The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the EU's comprehensive data protection law that governs how organizations collect, process, and store personal data of EU residents. For monitoring and status page tools, GDPR implications include where monitoring data is stored, what personal data (if any) is processed, whether cookies require consent, and whether a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is needed. Upwarden is designed for GDPR compliance: all data is stored on Hetzner servers in Germany, a DPA is available for download, and no tracking cookies are used.
